In Acts 14:1–20, Paul and Barnabas continue their missionary journey into Iconium, boldly preaching the gospel despite growing resistance. As Pastor Harley Doneburg teaches, the Word of God brings both belief and opposition. Many respond with faith, while others stir up division—yet the apostles remain steadfast, relying on the Lord who confirms their message with signs and wonders.
When the hostility intensifies, Paul and Barnabas flee to Lystra and Derbe, where God works powerfully once again as a man crippled from birth is miraculously healed. What begins with celebration quickly turns to persecution, revealing how quickly crowds can shift and how deeply the gospel confronts the human heart.
Through this passage, Pastor Harley reminds us that following Christ doesn’t guarantee an easy path, but it does guarantee God’s presence and purpose. The courage of Paul and Barnabas challenges us to stand firm, trust the Lord’s leading, and continue sharing the hope of Christ even when opposition arises.
